*The D'Aguilar Bell bronze tone ring
is our own tone ring cast and machined in Australia to a
stringent pre-war formulae. It's absolutely superb in every
way.
As always, Mark Twain had a way with words.
I thought you might like the quote below sent to me by my
good friend Rem way up there in the Yukon. Feel free to
steal it if you like, I did.
"The piano may do for
love-sick girls who lace themselves to skeletons, and lunch on
chalk, pickles, and slate pencils. But give me the banjo. . . .
When you want genuine music — music that will come right home to
you like a bad quarter, suffuse your system like strychnine
whisky, go right through you like Brandreth’s pills, ramify your
whole constitution like the measles, and break out on your hide
like the pin-feather pimples on a picked goose — when you want
all this, just smash your piano, and invoke the glory-beaming
banjo".
Mark Twain, “Enthusiastic Eloquence,”
San Francisco Dramatic Chronicle, June 23, 1865.

THE STRANGLER FIG CUSTOM
BANJO |
|
Here's the reason why this is one very
special banjo.

The resonator features Anne Simpson's spectacular image
of the strangler fig. However, the fingerboard has this
magnificent inlay built up from a variety of brilliantly
coloured and reflective shell inlays.
Only one Strangler Fig
banjo will ever be made thus making it a totally unique
instrument to carry the Eucalypt name. As with all our
banjos it has the Woodhill Bell tone ring which gives it
a brilliance of sound and an almost uncanny
sustain especially at the high end of the
fingerboard. Base notes are rich and powerful.
Email us if you would like to know more about this very
special instrument.
