THE NEW BURDEKIN BANJO

Only $1980.00 Australian Dollars including GST!

At last! ... a banjo that's light in weight and light
in cost ... the Eucalypt Burdekin
Built to exactly the same standard as all
Eucalypt Banjos here's a banjo that's light in weight but
certainly not light in tone, volume, and clarity. The secret
lies in the wooden tone ring made from
Burdekin Plum, an extremely hard and resonant
Australian timber, that's bonded to the Maple rim before
being machined to an exacting shape.
The result is a banjo, for under $2,000,
that surprises many who have played it and the very first of
its type received huge praise at this years IBMA World of
Bluegrass festival in Nashville. This instrument is now
owned by 12 year old
Maura O'Brien
of the
O'Brien Family Band and
she chose it not only because she can pick it up and carry
it easily (especially when she's on stage) but because it
had the right sound for a
performance banjo.
Most of us play for our own pleasure in the
comfort of own home with perhaps the odd jam session with a
few friends. This banjo will hold its own in any company and
is great for beginners, younger players, and for the
advanced player who simply doesn't want the weight (and
cost) of the bronze tone ring banjo.
Here's some thumbnails of the very first
Eucalypt Burdekin banjo, now owned by Maura O'Brien :-
